SSL Security Services Agreement

Effective September 5th, 2018

  1. Formation and Modification of Contract

This SSL Security Services Agreement is entered into by you (either personally or on behalf of another person or organization) and TierraNet Inc. ("TierraNet") as part of the TierraNet Universal Terms of Service Agreement [Link] (collectively, this "Agreement").

This Agreement states all of the terms and conditions regarding your use of the TierraNet Secure Sockets Layer Certificate Services ("SSL Security Services").

Your electronic acceptance of this Agreement signifies that you have read, understand, acknowledge and agree to be bound by this Agreement.

TierraNet may, in its sole and absolute discretion, and from time to time, amend all or any part of this Agreement. Amendments will become effective immediately upon TierraNet's posting to this website, but will not be applied retroactively. Your use of the SSL Security Services after amendments have been posted to this website will constitute your acceptance of this Agreement as last amended. Do not use (or continue to use) the SSL Security Services if you do not agree to be bound by this Agreement as last amended.

TierraNet may occasionally elect to email you advance notice of pending amendments to this Agreement. For this and other reasons, it is important that you keep your email address and other account information accurate and up-to-date in the TierraNet Control Panel.

  2. SSL Certificate Defined

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates are digital certificates that authenticate the identity of a website and are used to facilitate encrypted communication between two computers. You acknowledge that SSL certification is only effective in protecting data during its transmission, and does not protect data that is stored insecurely when it arrives at its destination.

  3. Reseller Services

TierraNet is a reseller of SSL certificates offered by RapidSSL®, Geotrust® and Symantec® (each a "Certificate Authority"). TierraNet does not modify the SSL certificate in any manner.

If you obtain a SSL certificate from TierraNet, TierraNet will generate a private key and submit the Certificate Signing Request ("CSR") to the Certificate Authority for the SSL certificate you select. If the Certificate Authority approves the CSR, it will then submit the SSL certificate to TierraNet for your download and use with an active hosting service.

When you submit your payment for your SSL certificate, you will have the option to generate your own private key and CSR for upload directly to the Certificate Authority, and to receive the issued SSL certificate directly from the Certificate Authority.

TierraNet does not guarantee that the Certificate Authority will issue an SSL certificate to you. Additionally, TierraNet does not offer assistance with installing SSL certificates.

  4. Your Representations

By submitting a SSL certificate, you hereby represent and warrant that (1) the statements you make in the application are complete and accurate, and your contact information is, and will be kept, current; (2) the SSL certificate will not infringe upon or otherwise violate the rights of any third party; (3) you are not using the SSL Security Service for any unlawful purpose; and (4) you will not use the SSL Security Service in violation of any applicable laws or regulations, or the Certificate Authority terms of service or this Agreement, including, but not limited to, TierraNet's Acceptable Use Terms. 5. Limitations

Other than processing your payment and receipt of the SSL certificate, or providing you with the tools to receive your own certificate directly from the Certificate Authority, you hereby acknowledge and agree that TierraNet is not responsible or liable in any manner for the SSL Certificate, or the products, services, acts or omissions of the Certificate Authority. Except as otherwise expressly provided in this paragraph, the TierraNet SSL Security Services are provided to you "AS IS."

If and to the extent assignable, TierraNet agrees to pass through to you any guarantees, warranties and other rights, if any, offered by the applicable Certificate Authority. You should carefully review the Certificate Authority's Terms of Service and other contracts, policies and conditions of use before you purchase the SSL certificate.
